The first part of the course covers the fundamentals of statistical data handling and statistical exploratory data analysis methods, including prediction, grouping, and classification using linear and non-linear regression, cluster analysis, and neural networks. The second part of the course focuses on symbolic knowledge discovery. Also on the agenda are the application of knowledge discovery techniques in business, financing, medicine, and engineering.
